Lubricants for valves, seals and o-rings

The improvement and extension of component life such as valves, seals, gaskets and O-rings can be directly affected by the lubricant used. The wrong lubricant may not be compatible with the process stream and may cause seizure or leaks.

Choosing the right lubricant can actually increase performance by providing better sealing and longer, trouble-free service life.

Seal lubricants are usually silicone based due to their compatibility with rubbers and elastomers.

Lubricants recommended for this application are listed below:

• Molykote 111 Compound - a thick silicone mixture for seals and valves with a drinking water certificate
• Molykote 55 O-ring - typical O-ring seal grease
• Molykote 3452 - Chemically Resistant Valve Grease
