Shell Omala S2 GX is a high performance EP anti-seize gear oil designed for use in heavy duty industrial gears. Excellent load-carrying properties, micropitting protection and seal compatibility ensure excellent performance of closed gears.

Application:

• Closed industrial gear systems
  The technology used in Omala S2 GX oils provides effective anti-seize protection. The oil is intended for use in closed industrial gears: toothed, helical and planetary, including heavily loaded systems lubricated by circulation or by means of a forced oil circulation. Omala S2 GX oils can also be used in splash or circulating lubricated systems with bearings in which there is direct contact of metal elements, and they are not equipped with gears.
• Other uses
  Shell offers a wide range of products for other specific transmission applications
• When the use of synthetic oils is recommended or very long oil change intervals are required or there are large temperature fluctuations, we recommend the use of Omala S4 GXV oil.
• Shell Omala S5 Wind 320 is recommended for wind turbine gearbox drives.
• The use of oils is recommended for worm gears
  Shell Omala S4 WE, Shell Morlina S4 B or Shell Omala S1 W.
• Shell Spirax products should be used for vehicle transmissions
• For geared systems or other applications where filters below 10 microns are used, consult your local Shell technical representative before using Shell Omala S2 GX.

  Shell Omala S2 GX provides high thermal and chemical resistance throughout the recommended replacement interval. The product is resistant to high temperatures and deposit formation, providing extended oil life, even at oil temperatures of up to 1000 ° C in some applications.

  Shell Omala S2 GX provides excellent load carrying capacity and micropitting protection for long equipment life.
• Maintain transmission system performance with optimized water separation capacity and reduced corrosion and foaming
  Shell Omala S2 GX exhibits excellent water separation, corrosion protection and low foam formation. Water reduces the fatigue resistance of bearing and gear surfaces and causes corrosion on the internal surfaces. Corrosion protection is maintained even when contaminated with seawater and solids.
  Reduced risk of foaming which often occurs in applications where the residence time of the oil in the reservoir is very short. Excellent shear stability ensures viscosity is maintained throughout the drain interval. Compatibility with common seals and protective coatings further enhances equipment performance and helps prevent leaks. Shell Omala S2 GX is compatible with most paints.
